Contract extensions with our winter athletes & impressions from the outdoor trade fair

In summer, you may not see as much of our winter athletes, but there are always things happening in the background. After the season, there were many contract extensions with many of our marquee winter athletes. Our two race directors Hans-Peter Kummer and Christian Nordhaus have a break from the World Cup, but not from athlete management. In mid-June we were also at the Outdoor by ISPO in Munich, the first trade show in over two years. With a completely new booth in a new design - below you can get an insight from the successful event!

"Our athletes are our most important brand ambassadors"

Alpine Racing Director Hans-Peter Kummer on current contract extensions: "Active athlete management is our top priority, because our athletes are our most important brand ambassadors. Even after the season, we are in constant contact and take care of their concerns. This time, there were some important contract extensions after the season and we were also able to win new athletes. First and foremost, the Norwegian Ragnhild Mowinckel, who has worked her way back to the top this season after several serious injuries. With her victory at the World Cup final in Courchevel, she has shown that she will be at the top again next season. Two other very successful Norwegians have extended their contracts. On the one hand Speed King Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and on the other the upcoming superstar Atle Lie McGrath. Also, our US superstar, Mikalea Shiffrin, has extended her contract, as have Alexis Pinturault and Lara Gut-Behrami."

We are also happy to announce the following contract extensions:

Beat Feuz (SUI), Wendy Holdener (SUI), Corinne Suter (SUI), Loic Meillard (SUI), Mauro Caviezel (SUI), Tessa Worley (FRA), Dominik Paris (ITA), Marta Bassino (ITA), Zan Kranjec (SLO), Stefan Brennsteiner (AUT), Sara Hector (SWE), Sepp Ferstl (GER);

"Athletes actively test new products and innovations"

Nordic Race Director Christian Nordhaus about the current situation: "Two absolutely challenging seasons lie behind us - marked on the one hand by an unprecedented pandemic, crowned on the other hand by an absolute highlight - the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. Despite often difficult conditions for the race service, we were able to further improve our products and maintain the service for our athletes. We are happy that almost all of our athletes continue to stand behind the LEKI brand. We are proud to continue working with Johannes Hosflot Klabo and have a close partnership. In addition to our German Olympic cross-country skiing champions Katharina Hennig and Victoria Carl, we are also pleased to continue to start the winter together with the Swedish biathlon team, especially the overall World Cup runner-up Elvira Öberg. The situation is similar in the Nordic combined, where the overall runner-up Johannes Lamparter continues to rely on LEKI. Currently, there are still some talks going on and the athletes are actively testing new products and innovations."

Here is the overview of current contract extensions of the Nordic athletes:

Langlauf: Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo (NOR), Didrik Toenseth (NOR), Victoria Carl (GER), Katharina Hennig (GER)  Nord. Kombi: Terence Weber (GER), Johannes Lamparter (AUT), Franz-Josef Rehrl (AUT), Lukas Greiderer (AUT)
Biathlon: Fabien Claude (FRA), Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (NOR), Vanessa Hinz (GER), Elvira Oeberg (SWE), Marketa Davidova (CZE)
